Implantation usually occurs about 5-7 days after ovulation. And not all women bleed during this process.

Implatation bleeding can occur as early as the first missed period. That’s why some women mistake themselves as not being pregnant. Not all women experience this bleeding, but if you are pregnant and have spotting, let your ob/gyn know as soon as possible, cause bleeding may be a sign of miscarriage.

It usually occurs around 6-12 days after ovulation. This is why some people confuse it with having an early period and do not realise that they are pregnant. So the earliest it can occur is around 6 days after ovulation but the most common is 8-10 days.

It is better to wait until the first day of your missed period to test though as the pregnancy hormone (HCG) is at a higher level this time and will be detected more easily.

Not everyone has implantation bleeding, it only occurs in about a 1/3 of pregnant woman.

If it occurs it is usually 7-10 days after ovulation.

Usually 7 to 10 days is when implantation occurs and most women don’t experience implantation bleeding, so don’t look for it.

I had implantation bleeding with both of my pregnancies. Both times it happened before I missed my period. The first time, I had taken an early pregnancy test which turned out positive and the next day I started bleeding. The next time, I started bleeding about a week before my period was due, and I knew right away that I was pregnant. I took another early test and sure enough. The doctors will never tell you though that you are having implantation bleeding until after they have run tests and make sure that the pregnancy is progressing normally. Both times for two weeks I had to go every couple of days for blood tests to make sure my hormone levels were going up and I had to have a couple of ultrasounds to make sure everything was developing correctly and attached in the right place etc. It was a really tough 2 weeks both times, but everything turned out okay.
