I would like to know who denied themselves and avoided sweets, fatty foods, and junk food and still gained 40 pounds or more.

I can’t follow that strict diet because whatever I want, I go and get it

with my first pregnancy, i ate healthy but also ate junk as well, I ended up gaing TONS of weight , and now I am 15 weeks 5 days with my second pregnancy and I am for the most part eating healthy, and very rarely treating myself to junk food. Its weird but it really doesn’t bother me this time around to be avoiding the junk. I really prefer healthy snacks if I want to have a snack, and I especially love making fruit smoothies with some yogurt, frozen strawberries, bananna’s, and other frozen fruits. this time around I am going to try my hardest to only gain the recommended amount.

I think that every person is different as well as each pregnancy, so I think that its just up to your body and your baby as to how much you will gain, even if you follow the pregnancy diet strictly. So all you can really do is just continue to eat healthy so you and your baby will get all the good nutrients you need to stay healthy. Good Luck!

I did and gained 45 lbs the 1st time, and I’m on track for the same amount of weight gain in this pregnancy too. I attribute it to being tall and underweight pre-pregnancy. I make sure whatever I eat is not sweet & fatty but nutritious. I’m not eating rice cakes and plain popcorn, but cheese, peanut butter, oatmeal, milk… pretty much anything that is rich in nutrients.
